I can't really understand why some reviews are so horrible and some are very good. People staying the same dates with two totally different experience I was invited to spend Christmas dinner at a Cubanos home and it was amazing. WE danced all evening as well.
The next day I bought fish for the family and we had a big cookout. I never thought that most of the food is Americanized therefore they are not exactly going out of their way to prepare anything gourmet. Personally I think the hotel food is just okay, but then again if I want ice sculptures and oysters on the half shell, then I'll go the Les Halles in New York city.
My only pet peeve are the idiots who think this is solely THIER vacation and get drunk, yell until 4am so the rest of us can't enjoy a nice comfortable sleep.
Be respectful of everyone!!!!! I have seen some hotels go wild with hookers since the Cuban government lifted its ban on allowing them into the hotels. What I don't understand is this. These girls and guys jump on a bus, hired by their town as provisions for horny tourists.
The oxymoron is this; the town provides the girls to keep tourists happy but busts them if caught hiring jons. They are allowed on hotel grounds as long as the jon has paid for their hotel stay. Sad thing is, they are usually young women and men with ugly, fat, old men. It makes me want to hurl! Its like watching my dad with a 16 year old! Its disgusting and this violation is wrong! And offensive! Ive seen them verbally abuse these girls and thats painful to watch.
