In these recessionary times I have managed to book a bargainish flight to Zadar , I'm now looking for a two bedroom apartment for ten days in October and would like somewhere reasonably close to the old town. Personal recommendations from Trip Adviser folk would be appreciated. Not the closest area but old town has mostly apartments that rent out to tourists. Not sure if this place has two bedroom, but its location is great. The rooms are very basic but I don't know what the prices are nowadays.
Maybe you could check it out Not safe place for low cost prostitution and other shady things! Location is great if you are not considering bars next door that are quite loud Avoid at all cost! Arbanasi is the best zone and it's close to the center I stayed in Zadar in June ,Hotel Venere was an overpriced dump but well located. Mira Rovis-Jakupovic,Zlataraska ,Zadar 98 has good, clean rooms with bathroom and air conditioning on the market square in the old town.

Tiny rooms, no view, no balconies- slightly seedy location, and if you want 2 rooms, not so cheap. But we found it great for a night before taking the ferry- and if you want to change plans, visit the islands and need a really cheap 2 room apartment with sea views on Dugi Otok an island 1 hour away- see my post, with contact numbers and details in reply to another recent enquiry.
