I went to this area to see the cave temples, and sadly was overwhelmed by the overpopulation of older men with young thai women prostituting themselves.
It really cheapened what is a lovely place. There are great seaside hotels and restaurants and the beach is lovely as well don't let the one curve of rocks dissuade you or the locals who call it stone beach. Renting a motorbike is recommended and easy, and there is a great viewpoint and mountain temple nearby.
Easy to get to by train or bus. If the bars weren't overrun by silver-haired hornies it would be a brilliant nightlife. Great beach very clean, water warm and also clean. Good thing about the beach not over crowded with people. The beach is about 6klm to 8klm long,great for walking with out running into lots of people. The beach is calm and good for children if you have kids. I have visited Hua Hin many times, and the beach is fantastic, it's such a long beach, the waters always warm and the beach never seems crowded, I love to go for long walks along the beach and stop at one of the many beach bars that pop up during the day for a nice cold drink, there is a great beach bar at the very end of the beach at the southern end!
That sells fresh steamed crab, There are always something to watch , or sports to take part in. Merchants everywhere, stones in the water, you should walk half kilometer to start swimming, and even in this case you can meet a stone near your head. Can come in morning if dislike sunny but most person like come morning and evening. Having the must extraordinary beaches in the South.. Do not miss your time in this normal European tipe beaches Go to Phuket and around and see one of the nicest beaches of the word.
