Dirty bed and sheet not being changed after the previous guest who probably "enjoyed" the night. The owner offered us drugs and prostitutes on our arrival making unpleasant jokes about the girls with us. The restaurant was full of old men and prostitutes. The pool is dirty, impossible to bath in. Stay away and go to Curasi for 30 soles more.
Not only was the service terrible but the hostel itself is not worth your time. We got picked up be a cab driver after we got off a bus from Lima that obviously worked for the hostel We had a look at the room and decided to stay The vibe was not good, there were a lot of children running around, not sure but I think they were family of the workers. There are also animals running around everywhere which was really cool for a bit but got old after awhile.
We ended up booking the sand boarding tour thru them and the boards we were given to use were terrible. They were all broken and you couldn't get moving on them no matter how much wax you put on. The town is small but has much better hostels than this one The room was ok for the price and based in a nice setting. My main issue was with the friendly staff, who seem to just want to sell you tours. We mentioned we were heading to Nazca next and actually bought a tour to fly over the Nazca lines from the receptionist who recommended his cousins hotel there.
On arrival the hotel was a disappointment and the cousin was pressurising us to buy another tour to kill time before our bus, which was verybdisappointing. The English speaking guide pulled out at the last minute and he wantedcme to translate for everyone as I speak both English and Spanish. We spoke to others travellers who got a much cheaper deals with other organisers.
My recommendation is not to buy any tours from here or going to the Nazca Inn Hostal as tgey were dodgy and ripping people off!!!! We stayed in a double room with a bathroom for S70 a night. If you buy the sandboarding and dune buggying trip from the hostel S45 you get S10 off per person per night. The sandboarding trip was really good with the hostel.
